„ODYSSEUS“
European Mobility Programme for Post-Graduates with IHK certificate
ODYSSEUS is the only European mobility programme accessible for people with a vocational education certificate from a German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), only. It has been designed in 2007 and will go into operation mid 2008.
Post-graduated people with a living address in Germany may participate in ODYSSEUS. Participants will get financial contributions during 26 weeks practical training in a company or at school. The amount paid depends on the host country.
Soft skills like mobility, flexibility, tolerance and capacity for teamwork become increasingly important for people with a vocational education. ODYSSEUS targets to supporting the development of these soft skills. ODYSSEUS targets to gain experience on international level.
Practical training outside Germany enables the participants to learn specific techniques of their particular occupation in a selected host country, to get to know its culture and of course to improve their foreign language skills.
ODYSSEUS will be funded by the LEONARDO DA VINCI programme of the European Commission. LEONARDO DA VINCI, itself, is the non-academic mobility programme within the LIFE LONG LEARNING Programme (LLP) of the European Commission.
ODYSSEUS is a joint programme of SEQUA as the programme coordinator and the regional “chambers of industry and commerce” in Germany:
