„SESAM“
European Mobility Programme for post-graduates

SESAM programme expired!

Latest Update: 04.06.2010

In June 2010, sequa decided to terminate SESAM - its oldest and most successful mobility programme for post-graduates. Due to the fact that in May 2010 the European Commission's National Agency took its decision not to provide any funds any more to sequa's SESAM programme such consecutive decision was unavoidable.

Background information about the former programme:

SESAM has been a European mobility programme accessible for peope after their graduation by a German chamber of commerce and industry or a chamber of skilled crafts. It has been introduced in 1992.

Soft skills like mobility, flexibility, tolerance and capacity for teamwork become increasingly important for craftspeople. SESAM targeted to supporting the development of these soft skills. SESAM supported post-graduates to gain experience on international level.

Practical training outside Germany enabled the participants to get acquainted with specific techniques of their particular trade in a selected host country, to get to know its culture and to improve their foreign language skills, of course.

SESAM had been funded by the LEONARDO DA VINCI programme of the European Commission. LEONARDO DA VINCI, itself, is the non-academic mobility programme within the LIFE LONG LEARNING Programme (LLP) of the European Commission.

SESAM had been a joint programme of sequa as the programme coordinator and the regional “chambers of skilled crafts and small businesses” as well as the regional "chambers of commerce and industry" in Germany.

Participants got financial contributions during 26 weeks practical training in a company or at school. The amounts paid depended on the host country.
