Serbia: Services for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Starting in January 2017, sequa has been supporting GIZ in the implementation of a project to promote private sector development in disadvantaged regions of Serbia. The core of the project is to strengthen the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia in Belgrade, which is currently undergoing a comprehensive reform process. sequa, together with the Chamber, is developing services in the three main sectors of the project, which are metal and mechanical engineering sustainable agriculture as well as information and communication technologies

IPD is the winner of the European Enterprise Promotion Awards german qualifying round 2017

The Import Promotion Desk (IPD) is one of the two winners of the German qualifying round for the European Enterprise Promotion Awards, EEPA, and represents now Germany in the category “Internationalisation of the economic activities” for the international selection. The initiative IPD convinced the expert committee of the Ministry for Economy and Energy (BMWi) as an initiative, which develops sustainably the international commercial cooperation and in addition, assists, in partner states, small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) to establish quality standards and promote commercial activities.

Tunisia: High women’s participation in strengthening of organic farming

In March 2016 the German bio-pioneer Weiling GmbH launched a two-year-long develoPPP.de project in Tunisia to support the local organic farming through training, technology transfer and the establishment of an association. The project activities have aroused a great interest among the Tunisian farmers. More than 40 of them joined the association of organic farmers and already three of them have converted to organic farming since the project inception. These three farms cultivate and produce Demeter certified sun-dried tomatoes for the German market.

The West German Chamber of Crafts and Skilled Council (WHKT) has started in April 2017 a Vocational Education and Training (VET) Partnership with the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) in Tanzania. The partners plan to introduce a new apprenticeship trade (mechanic for agro- and construction machinery technology) as well as practice-oriented training modules in post-harvest technologies and mechanic for farmers.
