Baugewerbliche Verbände (BGV), an union of 6 associations in the field of construction trades, cooperated in a new BMO-project with contractor associations in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda since November 2012. The project’s objective is to support the East African associations in developing their capacities as well as the competitiveness of their members. Therefore BGV provides consultancy for organisational development, service provision and Public Private Dialogue.

In a develoPPP.de project (2012-2014) the German Sunset-Energietechnik GmbH supports the establishment of a competence center for photovoltaic at the national VET "Centre Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA)" in Colombia. The centre will not only be used for training and further education. It will also serve as research and model facility for Colombian decision-makers from the energy sector.

In a two-year developpp.de project the international operating company aluplast started, in August 2012, a know-how transfer on PVC window profiles in Veracruz, Mexico. The following measures are planned:

  • Training courses for assemblers and window installers on the installation of plastic windows
  • Identification and training of multiplers on energy efficiency
  • Qualification chemes for students and teachers in energy efficiency techniques in buildings

The 3rd Ideas Competition 2012 of the develoPPP.de programme "Vocational education, training and qualification" finished on September 30, 2012.

For the 4th Ideas Competition interested enterprises may submit their application documents to sequa from November, 15 until December 31, 2012.

Editorial:
In the sequaForum we devote a great deal of space to information about our development policy activities. Our articles of corporation, however, state that we pursue two nonprofit goals: the "promotion of development policy and the promotion of continuing and vocational education including student aid". This second corporate objective is served, among other things, by our mobility programmes, which are probably less known to our EP partners. What both goals have in common is that they entail close cooperation between us and chambers, associations as well as educational institutions - notwithstanding that we address different target groups with them.
