Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal: Empowering women entrepreneurs

Strengthening girls and women as (future) entrepreneurs or (future) managers is the focus of a partnerAfrica project that the Association of German Women Entrepreneurs (VDU) e.V. is implementing in cooperation with Global Project Partners (GPP) e.V. with the Women Investment Club (WIC) Côte d'Ivoire and the Women Investment Club (WIC) Senegal.

The core of the project is the demand-oriented training and event offer. There will be courses for women entrepreneurs at different stages, from women with start-up ideas to more experienced entrepreneurs who want to expand. In addition, the event format "SheMadeIT" will be offered. Developed by GPP and the Digital Skills Accelerator, it will highlight potential development paths for female STEM students, in the areas of business start-up, career development and contact with potential employers. The VdU will also support WIC Côte d'Ivoire and WIC Senegal in their organisational development and accompany them through training and an exchange at eye level. Last but not least, the partner associations will be integrated into the multilateral businesswomen's network "Women in Business" and set up the working group "Women in Business Finance" there. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
