Maheder runs a food processing business and a shop for spices and pulses and supplies several super markets in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. She also added food delivery services to her business. The vision is to also export the processed ingredients like spices and pulses to Europe. To support Maheder in this endeavor, sequa supports in certifying the company according to the Food Safety Standard FSSC22000, which is connected to some necessary investments in equipment. Training was also provided regarding finance and pricing especially for a potential export business towards Europe. In cooperation with the Import Promotion Desk (IPD), Maheder took part in a virtual study tour around the hybrid trade fair Anuga in October 2021.

Maheder Foods is not the only company that receives support by sequa in the frame of this project: Four other projects are supported with similar activities and trade fair participations to built export capacities.
