Kenya, Nigeria and Pakistan: Empowering Women Entrepreneurs

The Association of Women Entrepreneurs in Germany (VdU) and Global Project Partners (GPP) have launched a new Chamber and Business Association Partnership (KVP), funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project aims to strengthen women’s business associations in Kenya, Nigeria and Pakistan, enhance the economic role of women entrepreneurs, and develop their associations into effective service providers and advocates for their members.

The partner organizations are the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs of Kenya (FOWEK), the Women Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture (WCCIMA) in Nigeria, and the Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry Korangi Karachi (WCCIK) in Pakistan. They will become part of the international Women in Business (WiB) network, which promotes exchange and cooperation among women entrepreneurs’ organizations across Africa, Asia and Europe.

Over the next three years, the partners will work together to strengthen the visibility and communication of the associations, develop new demand-oriented services for women entrepreneurs, and professionalize their management and membership structures. Planned activities include trainings, advisory missions and networking formats designed to strengthen the associations and foster exchange among them.

Through this cooperation, VdU and GPP contribute to improving women entrepreneurs’ access to markets, networks and business opportunities in the partner countries. The project thereby supports gender equality and entrepreneurial participation as part of a sustainable and inclusive economic development.
