Sector Analysis in Uzbekistan Identifies Potential for Dual Training
To improve vocational education in Uzbekistan for the future, sequa is currently conducting a sector analysis within the framework of the GIZ project “Support of the Reform and Modernization Process in the Vocational Education System of Uzbekistan” (TexVET). The aim of the study is to identify economic sectors and occupational profiles that are particularly suitable for the introduction or expansion of dual training formats, both at the level of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and at higher education institutions.
Special attention is given to aspects such as employment opportunities for women, the integration of green skills and international labour market relevance. In this way, the analysis contributes not only to the promotion of labour market-oriented training but also to economic modernization and social inclusion.
The results are intended to serve as a basis for further cooperation between educational institutions, the private sector and policymakers and in the long term to strengthen the employability of young people in Uzbekistan.
