BMO Partnership between HWK FRM and CMA Benin

The Chamber and Association Partnership between the Frankfurt-Rhein-Main Chamber of Skilled Crafts (HWK FRM) and the Benin Chamber of Skilled Crafts (CMA) aims to further strengthen the institutional capacity of the CMA and to support craftspeople and businesses through improved digital and gender-sensitive training and advisory services. In its second phase, the project focuses on reforming and professionalising vocational education and training in the crafts sector and on sustainably integrating innovative services into the CMA’s service portfolio. Key activities include the development of qualification standards, the recognition of informally acquired skills, the training of instructors, and the expansion of demand-oriented continuing education programmes. In addition, digital tools and applications are developed to support craft production processes and facilitate access to training. The project places special emphasis on female-dominated trades and promotes gender equality in the crafts sector. By strengthening the CMA as a central representative body, the project contributes to improved employment and income opportunities for craftspeople, particularly in rural areas, and supports Benin’s sustainable economic development.
