The second BBP project phase between the Koblenz Chamber of Skilled Crafts and its partner organisations in Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda will begin in November 2023. The aim of the project is to organise courses with a greater practical component than usual in the project countries. Where possible, the project works with the business community: Parts of the courses take place directly in the company. The project will be active in the solar, welding and tailoring trades, among others. In addition, vocational training procedures that have proved successful in one of the countries will be tested and piloted in another. This involves, for example, the recognition of informally acquired qualifications. The project will also carry out targeted activities to introduce girls and young women to professions that are currently male-dominated and provide them with moral support when they start their training. The BBP is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Vocational Education and Training
Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda: Vocational training partnership continues
The Vocational Training Partnership (BBP) of Koblenz Chamber of Skilled Crafts is entering its second project phase. The focus is on the implementation of short courses in the area of vocational training, as well as the piloting of proven vocational training procedures, such as the recognition of informally acquired qualifications. Additional trades will enable more women to be reached than in the first phase.
