Large parts of the Ethiopian population suffer greatly from internal conflicts and international crises such as the Tigray conflict, the high cost of raw materials due to the Ukraine war, and trade barriers due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Therefore, in November 2022, the project started, which contributes to the re-launch or continuation of business activities of Ethiopian SMEs affected by crises and conflicts.

The aim of the measure is to meet the needs of the population affected by the crises by securing and creating new jobs and income prospects through the support of SMEs from the affected regions, as well as providing access to low-cost, high-quality products and services.

The project will therefore support 75 SMEs from the regions of Amhara, Oromia and Addis Ababa in their business activities. The focus is particularly on the following sectors:
- Basic food
- WASH: water, sanitation, hygiene
- Logistics, transport, information and communication technology
