Vocational Training in Mechatronics in SA

Since December 2019, the Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw) has been carrying out a vocational training partnership with selected TVET colleges in the Gauteng province in South Africa. The cooperation aims to enable the local partner vocational schools to offer accredited vocational training programs in mechatronics. The expansion of vocational qualification, based on the German Dual System, will contribute to improving the productivity and competitiveness of South African industry.

Project Target

Up to 3 TVET colleges in the Gauteng province are qualified to offer accredited vocational training as mechatronics technicians (Level 5, Occupational Certificate).
