EU Market Access for Amazonian Products
The project “EU Market Access for Products from Amazonian Biodiversity” supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Ecuador’s Amazon region in positioning their sustainably produced natural ingredients in specialized European markets. Despite the strong potential of products such as macambo, morete, guayusa, vanilla or cinnamon, limited market knowledge, low visibility and weak international networks currently hinder entry into the EU market. The project strengthens the export capacities of participating companies through targeted training, the development of professional company and product profiles, and the preparation of a market study analysing demand trends, certification requirements and market-entry barriers. Based on these insights, tailored marketing strategies will be developed, including digital campaigns, storytelling formats, influencer collaborations and consumer-oriented promotional activities. Another core component is facilitating direct linkages with European buyers through matchmaking formats, virtual presentations and participation in international trade fairs such as Anuga, Biofach or In-Cosmetics.
