BMO partnership: BWE and WIPPA+IWTMA in India

On December 1, 2025, the German Wind Energy Association (BWE), in cooperation with the Offshore Wind Energy Foundation (SOW), started a chamber and association partnership with the Wind Independent Power Producers’ Association (WIPPA) and the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers’ Association (IWTMA) in India. The project has a duration of three years. With expert support from Germany, the Indian associations aim to further develop their advocacy efforts as well as to engage in public relation activities with stakeholders of industry and the public area about relevant topics. A further focus of the project is strengthening cooperation between German and Indian companies in the wind energy sector, including their joint participation in the Indo-German Platform for Investments in Renewable Energies.

Project Target

The Indian wind energy associations WIPPA and IWTMA receive support in becoming driving forces and knowledge centers for the expansion of wind energy in India. Furthermore, the project aims to promote the expansion of German-Indian business cooperation in the wind energy sector.
