Strengthening Cambodia’s Export Services
As part of the GIZ programme EU-German Global Access and Trade Expertise (EU-German GATE), sequa, together with the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) in Cambodia, supports the development of export-oriented services of business associations and chambers. The objective is to strengthen the capacities of selected Business Support Organisations (BSOs) to provide tailored services for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and thereby facilitate their access to ASEAN and EU markets. A central component of the project is the organisation of the Cambodian pavilion at European trade fairs – such as ANUGA 2025 in Cologne – where around ten companies will showcase their products. These companies are supported through targeted training and matchmaking activities. In addition, BSOs are assisted in developing new services, while MoC staff receive training on export promotion and trade fair management. In this way, the project contributes to building sustainable structures for export promotion in Cambodia and to enhancing the long-term competitiveness of Cambodian exporters.

Project Target
The objective of the project is to strengthen the export capacities of Cambodian BSOs and SMEs in order to improve their access to international markets, particularly the EU. The first result area focuses on strengthening the capacities of selected BSOs through training, coaching and the development of new services, enabling them to effectively support SMEs in export promotion. The second result area addresses market access for companies. Around 30 Cambodian firms will be supported in preparing for, exhibiting at and following up on international trade fairs such as ANUGA, and in establishing business linkages with European buyers.
