Vocational Orientation for Disadvantaged Youth

The Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw) gGmbH cooperates with Kenyan educational and business institutions in rural Kenya within the framework of a vocational training partnership (BBP). By strengthening Kenyan institutions, the partnership project aims to offer disadvantaged young people in Kisumu and Siaya County improved practical vocational training and thus increase their employability. To this end, the project works closely with the Auma Obama Foundation Sauti Kuu (SKF) and other vocational training institutions in the region. Cooperation partners are also the Kenyan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KNCCI) Kisumu and companies which offer practical orientation and qualification phases. In the first two years of the project, the Hanover Chamber of Crafts (HWK), with the support of the Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (Polytechnic of Medium-Sized Enterprises; FHM), was the project executing agency. Since 1 December 2022, bbw has been continuing the project.
