Since the application deadline for the 2nd Call for Proposals for innovative partnership projects on 23 August 2023, the project applications submitted have been evaluated and a pre-selection made. A total of 161 project applications were submitted, of which 42 projects focusing on innovation and sustainability were pre-selected.
These projects will focus on two thematic lines: the promotion of deforestation-free agricultural value chains and the transition to low-carbon, resource-efficient and more circular business models. Both enable the transition to a greener and more responsible economy.
The diversity and regional scope of these projects will have a significant impact on SMEs and producers in the region. They will be implemented in the following Latin American countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
The Component 1 team will liaise with the lead institutions representing the pre-selected projects to pave the way for the implementation of their projects under the AL-INVEST Verde programme.
