Ethiopia: Effective work possible again in the Amhara region

Now that the armed conflict in the Tigray region finally calmed down at the end of 2022 and that the COVID pandemic is over, effective work in the Business Membership Organisation Partnerships (KVP) between the Reutlingen Chamber of Industry and Commerce and chambers in the Amhara region is possible again.

In February 2023, the Reutlingen Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) and its partners Amhara Regional Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ARCCSA) and Gondar City Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (GCCCSA) had a workshop to plan their joint project in detail. The partners were particularly pleased that the planning could take place in person and in the city of Bahir Dar for the first time in years, after project meetings could previously only take place online or in Addis Ababa due to the security situation.

With the support of their colleagues from Reutlingen as well as external service providers, both chambers want to develop new services for their members, provide strategic support to the tourism sector and represent their members to the political sphere in a more structured way than before. The KVP is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
