Jordan: Chambers support demand-orientated vocational training

The new vocational training partnership (BBP) of the Cologne Chamber of Skilled Crafts (HWK) in Jordan starts in September 2024. As part of the BBP, Jordanian chambers are supported in organising needs-oriented vocational training measures in cooperation with vocational training providers.

So far, Jordanian chambers have not been involved in the state-organised vocational education and training (TVET). In order to promote demand-orientated TVET, vocational training departments are to be set up at Jordanian chambers as part of the project. The added value of involving the chambers lies in the ability to effectively assess the needs of the member companies. Due to the compulsory membership of the companies, valuable data on their needs can be collected. Vocational training and qualification measures are then developed and implemented in cooperation with vocational training institutions based on these needs. Moreover, appropriate lobbying based on the information obtained shall also contribute to increasingly demand-orientated public planning of vocational training.

The BBP is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) as part of the ‘Partners in Transformation’ programme.
