Before the war began, Ukraine was already in the process of strengthening its vocational education and training system by introducing dual elements into its training programmes. Although occupational standards have been introduced as the basis for the development of educational standards, curricula and teaching and learning materials, their development and management have not yet been integrated at system level. The VET partnership project aims to build on the successes already achieved and establish vocational education and training with dual elements as an educational pathway in the partner vocational schools in four project regions in western Ukraine. In the second phase of the BBP project, the cooperation is to be extended to the Ternopil region and a further vocational school. The project will therefore work with a total of seven vocational schools in four project regions in western Ukraine (Lviv, Volhynia, Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil).

Ukraine: Vocational training with dual elements as an educational pathway
The second phase of a VET partnership between the Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw) and selected vocational training institutions in the regions of Lviv, Volynia, Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil in Ukraine began in January 2024. The aim of the project, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) as part of Partners in Transformation, is to make training more practice- and needs-orientated.
