Starting in Asia, with stopovers in Europe and Africa, and ending in Latin America, new and best practices will be discussed together with internationally recognised experts* on the overarching topic of "Integrity challenges for private procurement in times of crisis". In seven webinars, the baton will be passed metaphorically from region to region to jointly create awareness of the importance of integrity and to promote integrity in companies during and after the pandemic.
Purchasing is an area with a high risk of corruption. In their standard processes, companies have usually defined steps that promote fair and open competition and minimize risks of corruption and collusion. In times of crisis, characterized by uncertainty, time pressure, health risks and scarcity due to increased demand and interrupted supply chains, risks are much higher.
How can companies procure products and services flexibly and quickly without neglecting compliance and integrity? What lessons can be learned from the crisis? How can companies become more resilient? The Integrity Marathon will address these and other questions on challenges, processes and good examples in private procurement.
The Alliance for Integrity is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and organized through the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
