Vocational training in Honduras

The Technical and Vocational Training Partnership works together in a network of 5 regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI) as well as the Honduran Federal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which share their specific knowledge about structures and needs of local companies as well as the level of training of young people in the regions. By including additionally the local CCIs from Tegucigalpa and Choloma, which had already completed an extensive institutional development process themselves through their participation in a supra-regional Chambers and Associations Partnership from 2008 to 2015, these experiences will now be passed on to other chambers in the country. Building on this exchange of knowledge, a needs-based service offer of vocational training as well as a job placement platform will be developed. A database of consultants for the implementation of training measures will be set up. The offer will be tested in pilot projects, which will conclude in documented successes as best practice examples. At the same time, a network of key players in the field of vocational education and training is being established. The project activities enable the partner chambers to offer appropriate services for vocational training and job placement to their members and other stakeholders, as well as to carry out professional advocacy and public relations in order to promote these topics in exchange with companies.
