sequa mobility programme 2020-2023: 935 study trips

Erasmus+ funding for the sequa mobility programme was approved this year by the National Agency at the German Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (NA at BIBB). This gives 935 participants nationwide the opportunity to apply for grants for an European study trip.

The sequa pool project promotes the mobility of trainees in the dual vocational education and training system and young workers through the SINDBAD and TRANSDUAL programmes. There they can gain international work experience by doing an internship in a European company and develop their technical, intercultural and language skills.

Also he vocational training personnel of the consortium partners can apply for further vocational training through an internship/job shadowing via the move-it programme segment or teach at a corresponding partner institution in another European country. It is also eligible for funding if employees of companies conduct training courses with providers of vocational education and training abroad.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NA at BIBB extended the project period for this grant. Thus sequas new programme starts on 31.12.2020 and runs until 30.08.2023.

Currently, more than 500 places are available for participants in the 2019 - 2021 programme round. In addition, sequa has been able to extend the 2018 - 2020 programme by one year, so that stays abroad that were postponed or cancelled in the first half of 2020 can be made up for without any problems. Interested parties can find further information on the sequa website and register online.

The sequa mobility programmes are a contribution to the improvement and internationalisation of vocational education and training in Europe and support the initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), which envisages that in 2020 up to 10% of trainees in Germany will complete part of their training abroad. They contribute to strengthening the European idea, which is of particular importance at the present time.
